Thinking of hiring me to shoot your wedding?
Cool! I'd love for you to consider my services for one of the most important days of your lives. Here's a little bit of info for you to help you decide, and maybe answer some questions that you wouldn't think to ask!
My shooting style
My wedding approach is documentary style- I like to capture the day exactly as it happens, as unobtrusively as possible! I keep posed pictures to a minimum to let the real, raw emotion of the day show itself in my work. I want you to be able to feel the love whenever you look back on your images! I'm happy to provide links to full galleries of past wedding clients so you can scope it out and get an idea of what to expect, just ask!
"Do you need a shot list?"
Nope! I work better without one, actually! I've been shooting weddings for 9 years now, so I've got a good idea on what to cover. The only list I need is which family members you'd like formally photographed, and their groupings if you've got a large family. I'll ask for that info when it gets closer to the big day so we can iron out an itinerary and plan for the day!
"Do you travel?"
Yes! And I'll travel for proposals, engagement shoots, and elopements as well. I've got my passport all ready to go! Travel over an hour from the Syracuse area costs me a little extra in gas, and anything farther than a 3 hour drive may require lodging or other upfront costs - so let me know where your wedding will be taking place so I can look into quoting a travel fee for you.
"Do we have to order prints through you?"
All of my packages include digital downloads of ALL the edited images, and a print release so you can print them where you want them, when you want to. I do offer prints through a couple of different labs, which you can easily order through the online gallery. If you'd like images printed local to the Syracuse area, I highly recommend Industrial Color Labs. Save your money and don't bother with those kiosks at the grocery store- the quality is NOT the same! If you're looking for budget-friendly printing, there are plenty of better options online (I like Mpix.com!).
"Do you use a second shooter? Do we need a second shooter?"
Depends on the wedding. Two of my packages come with a second shooter, and the other package is able to be upgraded to include one. If you're having a small, intimate wedding or elopement, chances are you won't need a second shooter. Otherwise, I always recommend one! Most couples want more than one angle of the important moments- and if you want to tell the complete story of the day- two eyes are better than one. I only work with colleagues who shoot consistently with my style and are at the same skill level as myself.
"What's a first look? Should we do one?"
It's one of my favorite parts of the day to photograph, if you choose to do one! Basically, once you two are finished getting dressed, we'll bring you to a spot away from everyone else, so you can see each other for the first time. It can often be a little emotional, but totally helps calm some nerves before the ceremony. If you want to stick with tradition, that's cool too- but first looks can help make your wedding day timeline run smoother - there's more wiggle room for your portraits, especially if we're at the mercy of bad weather!
"Do you offer albums? Photo books? Large prints? Canvasses?"
Yes! They are all available to order through my online gallery. And, since all packages include digital downloads, you can use third party websites and design services to your heart's content. Let me know if you need some recommendations!
How to book
I require one third of your chosen package price to reserve your date (and you can always upgrade later if you wish!). This retainer is non-refundable in case of cancellation. Full payment is due 2 weeks before the wedding date. I accept cash, check, or PayPal (+2.9% convenience fee).
